When an Independent Bookstore “Leaves”

Sad to say, another author-friendly bookstore will soon bite the dust. Leaves Book and Tea Shop (also known as Leaves Bakery and Books) in Fort Worth, Texas, will close in early August. This past Sunday, they held their last Afternoon with Authors event, and I participated as a panelist.

Ann Katagiri, Scott Finley, and me

Thank you to Challyn Leicht and Tina Howard for organizing and running the event.

Ann Katagiri discussed her trilingual book Den Chan, the Cat Who Crossed the Ocean, available in Japanese/English, English/Chinese, and Chinese/Japanese.

Scott Finley, whom I’ve interviewed here talked about his books, Shadow of the Queen, Queen of Diamonds, and his upcoming book, Queen of the Sky.

I droned on about The Seastead Chronicles.

My display at Leaves

Though I wish the audience for our panel had been larger, the event went well. Honored to have been chosen for Leaves’ final Afternoon with Authors event, I’m—
